According to the Companies Act, 2017, the following words are prohibited from being used in the name of a Private Limited Company in Pakistan:
- “Emirate”
- “Federal”
- “Government”
- “Majesty”
- “National”
- “Provincial”
- “State”
In addition to these prohibited words, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has specific guidelines for the selection of company names. The SECP may reject a company name if it is deemed to be inappropriate or confusingly similar to the name of another company.
It’s worth noting that you will need to get the name of your Private Limited Company approved by the SECP before you can register your company. You can do this by submitting an application for name approval along with the required fee. The SECP will review your application and, if the name is approved, will issue a name approval certificate.
