The Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) is a government agency in Pakistan that provides old-age benefits to workers in the country. EOBI is responsible for administering the country’s social security program, which provides financial assistance to workers who are retired, disabled, or otherwise unable to work.
EOBI provides a range of benefits to eligible workers, including:
- Old-age pension: This is a monthly payment provided to workers who have reached the age of 60 and are no longer able to work.
- Disability pension: This is a monthly payment provided to workers who are disabled and are no longer able to work.
- Widows’ and orphans’ pension: This is a monthly payment provided to the surviving spouse and children of a deceased worker.
- Medical treatment: EOBI provides medical treatment to eligible workers and their dependents through a network of hospitals and clinics.
To be eligible for benefits from EOBI, workers must be registered with the institution and must have made contributions to the social security program. Employers are required to register their employees with EOBI and to make contributions to the program on behalf of their employees.
